Preserving Local History with Precision Concrete Work
B&K Concrete was honored to be chosen for the restoration of the concrete surrounding the stars along the Walk of Fame. Over the years, weather, foot traffic, and natural wear had left sections of the walkway cracked and uneven, diminishing the experience for visitors and locals alike.
Our goal was simple: preserve the stars while upgrading the walk with smooth, durable, and clean concrete that highlights—not distracts from—the accomplishments beneath your feet.
What We Did
Careful Demolition & Preservation: We started by removing the damaged concrete without disturbing the embedded brass stars. Each section was approached with precision to ensure the integrity of the landmark was protected.
Concrete Replacement: New concrete was poured and finished around each star, creating a uniform and visually clean surface. We matched the style and tone of the original walkway, while using modern techniques and materials for added durability.
Weather-Resistant Finishing: Because of St. Louis’ unpredictable weather, we applied a finish that will hold up to freeze-thaw cycles, rain, and heavy pedestrian traffic.
